what does 'bu' and 'po' mean on pieces of tab, is it a misprint? |

"po" could be "pull off". Hit a fretted note, and then quickly pull off the string with the fretting finger as it is released to sound it again at a lower fret. Think of making the standard D chord and "hammering on" and "pulling off" your pinky on the high E string, 3rd fret to make the Dsus4. Very common sound in folk music. "bu" I am guessing is "bend up". Sound the string one fret lower than the intended note, then bend the string up to pitch. If the strings are thin enough, and you are high enough on the fretboard, you can bend more than half a step, but I would start simple. |
