for example: if i take a chord from one scale and then another chord from a different scale and add different notes from a different scale would that still work? im working on a song and and as far my theory goes my guess its that its in the key of B major since my first chords are from the B major scale but then on my third chord i use different notes dont dont belonf to the scale im playing.it still sounds melodic im jsut curious if im using music thoery right because after all.all music notes are related in they sense of your music taste if im not wrong thats whys its called theory lol? but someone help.thanks

If it sounds right - play it!! Most of the worlds top songs have been written by people who don't have a clue about theory. Let your ears decide the outcome!!

Your questions seem to be: Can I randomly take chords from different keys, combine them with scales from different keys, and create music? My answer to that: yes. But, that's sort of taking the shotgun approach to writing a song. It can be very hit and miss.

That's why people study theory: So they can always hit the target.

My suggestion is to study songs through their most basic elements: melody, harmony, and rhythm. If you are going to sing a melody; try playing it on guitar. If you're going to play chords; look at how the melody harmonizes with them. Master the rhythm. Learning scales and chords are just a means to an end.

You seem as though you want to know what you're playing and why; who doesn't, that's really where the art of music comes in. People talk about those lucky popular music stars who make millions singing whatever random stuff they think up. But the other thing they talk about is the fact that those same "artists" are often just pretty faces there to cover up the industry salesmen. Art is what you do because you love it, because you want it to represent you, and because you want the world to see you as you see yourself.

You can use a shotgun, I assume, to kill a deer, but it may be more effective to use a rifle.
