I have some christmas sheet music that has mostly 1 note melody and I want to add notes to make it sound better.Can u help?

If there are chords; use them. What I mean is try to play a chord on the first beat of each measure and use the melody as the highest note of the chord.

If there are any interesting, or important, sounding parts in the melody put chords below them in addition to the first beat.

Most modern music has a lot of syncopation and fancy strumming, but those are often just airs taken up by inexperienced artists. Christmas music tends to be old church music, so adding a simple accompaniment can often be very effective.

Can you expand on your question. i.e. will there be maybe two or three guitars playing together or do you want to finger pick or will you want to play broken chords with a melody attached?
