When you are playing in A major how do you know to use A major or A minor pentatonic to do a solo |
|
If you are playing in A Major, you're always going to play in an A Major scale. If you're playing in A minor you're going to play an A Minor scale. Simple as that. |

Well the most basic type of playing is just playing on that scale and making sure no to get out of that scale. But if you want to sound better than you are going to use more than one scale. If you are playin in A Major you can use C#m Scale If you notice, the C#m Scale only has one note that is not found in A Major, which is D#/Eb. Now there isnt a big difference note wise, but is going to give you a nice sound. If you use this scale, you are going to be using cromaticism. You can also use the Bm Pentatonic. Its something sweet to try!!!!!! I hope this helped. |
