There are so many illegal guitar tab sites on the internet. Most of them stem from the original OLGA site that was up for so many years until they received a takedown notice. Since then, some sites have sprung up that provide legal tabs with the consent of the copyright holders. One such site is MXTabs.net. Even Guitar World Magazine's Tab site appears to offer some free content. What are other legal free tab sites on the net? |

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ is my favorite at the moment. You can also download Guitar Pro and Power Tab files that other members have created, too. @gelbkreuz: Is http://ultimate-guitar.com/ really legal? According to http://www.fretbase.com/blog/2008/08/can-guitar-tabl/ they simply moved their operation to Russia in order to escape legal action.

Well, maybe change your question to "What are the legal free tab sites inside the US?" or "If I live in the US, where can I legally download tablature from?" then. Legal/Illegal is after all, dependent on where you are a citizen. =)

It's not illegal, as they state it is the person's interpretation and is not intended for commercial use, etc.
