need help figuring out how to tune my guitar to drop d.....i dont even know what that means lol but can somebody help me? im trying to play far away by nickelback |

You know typically how you play the 5th fret of the E String to get an A, well, instead of playing the 5th fret on the E String, Hold the 7th fret, and tune the E to match the A, not the other way around, you'll get a D, assuming your A string is in tune, just use a tuner, it's easy. Another way, if you play more distortion and power chords, strum both the E and A strings and tune the E slowly down to it sounds good, like a D power chord, that's the way I do it, it's pretty simple |

Drop D tuning is just like standard tuning except the lowest pitch string is lowered one whole step. Starting from standard tuning, simply tune the low E string down to D and you're set. |
