I've owned a Dunlop Crybaby wha wha pedal for years and even when it was brand new, it had an annoying background hiss whenever I used it. Is it possible to fix this or should I simply get a new one?

I had the same problem with two brand new dunlop crybaby pedals that I bought from the store. From asking around in forums I found out that this is due to faulty "pots" or potentiometers. I loved the wah itself, but could not stand the noisy sound that was there (and would swoosh when you used the pedal too). What you can do is try a Morley pedal, or some other digital wah which isn't prone to the same issue. However, the dunlop crybaby is analog electronics and has a warm sound to me which I think a digital pedal like a morley doesn't exactly recreate. I could tell you to get a new one, but I got a brand new one that had the issue, then got another one when i returned it, and that one also had the issue. Maybe they are all like that? Or maybe its a bad pot.
