One of the best features of Jguitar (in my opinion) is the amazing Chord Namer utility - sadly, however, there is no equivalent "Scale Namer". Is this something planned to be implemented in the future - and whether or not it is, is there anywhere on the interwebs such a utility already exists? I'd like to be able to discover the name and properties of a scale without having to post a harassing question on the boards.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I've considered creating a scale namer similar to the chord namer. The challenge is that there is not a systematic way of naming scales like there is for chords. Scales basically have arbitrary names and only a handful of scales out of all the mathematical possibilities actually have names. So a scale namer might have a less than satisfying user experience because so many queries would return no results. Maybe it might still be worth it. I'm not sure. Now that it's been asked on our public forum, I'll wait and see if this question gets upvoted by our registered users to see if people think JGuitar should offer a scale namer.
