IS THE C ADD2 AND C ADD9 THE SAME? IF THERE IS A DIFFERENCE CAN YOU EXPLAIN ME WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Cadd9 is a C major chord with an added 9th in it. A 9th must sound an octave higher than a 2nd.

There is generally no such chord commonly known as Cadd2. The closest would be Csus2 which differs from a C Major chord in that it contains a 2nd instead of a 3rd.

cadd9 and csus2 are pretty much the same. i can play a song that uses csus2 but sometimes i use cadd9 because they sound almost exactly the same. i personally think cadd9 sounds better though ;)
