I'm in need of assistance; I've been playing bass for almost a year now, but I am now moving into a Jazz that requires the basic ability to read music. I have the ability to read music, as I play Trombone in my local town band, but I need to know what location the low E String on a Bass Guitar is on sheet music. After that, I can figure everything out myself. i.e. One bar below the staff above the line, two below the staff on the line, etc... Please and thank you! |

Hopefully this will help:
-- Wikipedia Given this starting point, if you know where middle C is on the staff, you should be able to do the math to figure out where the low E string falls. Asaph, you jerk, making people do work to answer their own questions! I feel the same way about questions whose answers show up on the first Google attempt.
